What Members Do

How we support Educational Projects
We work together within our chapters across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Rhode Island to accomplish the objects and aims of P.E.O.

Through monthly meetings, community projects and our annual Convention, we work as Chapters to make an impact on the lives of those in our local areas.

Once you have been initiated into our Sisterhood, you are — and always will be — a P.E.O.! Our membership includes approximately 200,000 women in nearly 5,500 chapters in the United States and Canada.

To build a truly welcoming Sisterhood, P.E.O. is committed to fostering inclusion and belonging while honoring the values that have guided us for generations. This commitment is not about prescribing beliefs or changing hearts—it respects the longstanding tradition of local chapters selecting their own members and affirms our shared responsibility to ensure every sister feels seen, valued, and able to belong.

Rooted in loving concern for one another and our mission to support women’s educational goals, P.E.O. embraces the unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives of women who share our foundational values. By honoring our history while looking forward, we strive to create a sense of belonging for all women 18 and older who acknowledge a belief in God, regardless of background or life experience—strengthening our chapters today and sustaining our Sisterhood for the future.
